The Northwest (American Design)
Published in Hardcover by Bantam Doubleday Dell Pub (Trd) (October, 1989)
Authors: Linda Humphrey, Fred Albert, and Michael Jensen
Average review score:

Fantastic photos & design ideas!
This book covers 16 homes designed by noted and not so noted architects in the Northwest. I personally liked one of these homes so much, I built one just like it as a weekend retreat. The styles vary, as do the materials and locations. Most of what you'll see in here is rather comtemporary and timeless -- it worked then, and it still works today!

Northwestern University
Published in Hardcover by Harmony House Publishing/Louisville (December, 1988)
Author: Jack Mellott
Average review score:

A beautiful keepsake
Jack Mellot's photos capture the beauty of Northwestern's Evanston campus in a way that I imagine all alumni want to remember it. Nary a word, except for the haunting alma mater, occupy this book, and for good reason -- the pictures speak for themselves.

The Old North Trail or Life, Legends and Religion of the Blackfeet Indians
Published in Paperback by Univ of Nebraska Pr (October, 1992)
Author: Walter McClintock
Average review score:

The Old North Trail is as authentic as the journal of L& C
Walter McClintock was a young man who came to the Blackfeet Country at about the turn of the century. He was a trained scientist who could use a camera and he kept careful notes. This is not a romance novel nor anthropological interpretation. McClintock was simply there and made friends well enough to be accepted. He recorded stories, rituals (also took photos), and daily incidents as well as much natural history. He was really there and he is an honest and graceful reporter.

On to Oregon: The Diaries of Mary Walker and Myra Eells
Published in Paperback by Univ of Nebraska Pr (April, 1998)
Authors: Mary Richardson Walker, Clifford Merrill Drury, Myra Fairbanks Eells, and Mina A. Carson
Average review score:

An impressive compilation of our past.
I am very impressed with this new release of Mary Walker's Diary. I am a direct decendant of Mary and Elkanah Walker and am very proud that there is such a wonderful book with her's and Myra Eells' diary entries. It gives us a view of how women's lives were, how people's views about the Native Americans were at that time, and shows us the hardships of pioneer life. I want to thank the authors for keeping this piece of history alive.

The Pacific Northwest
Published in Hardcover by Leisure Arts (June, 2002)
Authors: Jean Galton, Leigh Beisch, and Chuck Williams
Average review score:

A Great Addition to the WS-New American Cooking Series
This is a great addition to the WS Library, and will be to any cookbook reader's library. The Pacific Northwest has easy to follow recipes that are true to the regions bounty. As with all WS books, the pictures can write a story themselves. I especially like the sections that go into the history of the regional produce and what florishes naturally in the Northwest climate. This is a true representation of what makes that area of our country so unique. Reading the book has made me want to take a trip back there.

Pacific Northwest Flavors: 150 Recipes from the Region's Farmland, Coastline, Mountains & Cities
Published in Hardcover by Clarkson N. Potter (March, 1995)
Authors: Lori McKean and Michael Skott
Average review score:

Wonderful Pictures, Wonderful Recipes...
Though some of these recipes are a little out there, most of them are simply delectable. The book provides a great feel for the flavor (pardon the pun) of the region and some wonderful recipes.

Paths to the Northwest a Jesuit History
Published in Hardcover by Loyola Pr (January, 1983)
Author: Wilfred Schoenberg
Average review score:

Detailed Refrence
This is the best detailed refrence of the history of settlement in the last frontier. The architectural and cultural historical value is unprecidented. The detail oriented Jusuites have left a first rate journal. A rare find indeed.
